Discussions about the SqlDBHelper V3 are hot this time. We are thinking about great things and great changes. There is a Plugin Concept in the Brainz to make it easier to develop extensions to the DB Helper. The new Version will be completly rewritten,
using the latest technologies strait out of Redmond, using C# on .NET Framework(s) 3.x - Windows Presentation-, Communication-, Workflow Foundation Technologies. It alsow should get interfaces to the most popular Source Control Systems, Visual SourceSafe and Subversion. These interfaces might also be realized as plugins to be able to provide more in that way, later. The Project-Site itself might also move to another place on a managed server, because we plan to outsource the version management to the internet, to be able to work on the project from everywhere in the world, because at this time we are bound a fixed local networking infrastructure and so working is only possible when connected to the local network. If you're asking yourself now SqlDBHelper becoming OpenSource? - No, it won't! It still can be used free of charge, of course. So volks, expect greats from our sides - I have to continue, there's lots of work ;) |
